Research on Restoration and Conservation of the River Environments

We study the relationships between the physical environment and living things such as vegetation, fish, bivalves and crustaceans in order to contribute to river restoration projects and to the conservation of biodiversity in aquatic environments.

We have conducted field surveys in many kinds of aquatic environments, including restored rivers, artificially altered rivers, natural rivers and floodplains. In addition, we have research sites not only in Japan but also in eastern Asian countries.
