Jan. 1911  The College of Engineering, Kyushu Imperial University was established.
Mar. 1911  The Departments of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Mining, and Metallurgy were set up.
Apr. 1919  The College of Engineering was reorganized as the Faculty of Engineering.
Oct. 1920  The Department of Naval Architecture was set up.
Dec. 1937  The Department of Aeronautical Engineering was set up.
Mar. 1939  Mathematical Physics and Chemistry were integrated into Applied Science.
Jun. 1945  The Department of Communication Engineering was set up.
Oct. 1947  Kyushu Imperial University was renamed as Kyushu University.
May 1949  The New System of Kyushu University started.
Apr. 1953  The Graduate School of Engineering was established.
The Departments of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Mining Technology, Metallurgy, Naval Architecture, Applied Mechanics, and Applied Physics were set up.
Apr. 1954  The Department of Architecture was set up.
Apr. 1957  The Department of Organic Synthesis was set up.
Apr. 1958  The Department of Mechanical Engineering for Production was set up.
Apr. 1959  The Department of Electronics was set up.
Apr. 1960  The Department of Chemical Engineering was set up.
 The Department of Architecture was set up.
Apr. 1961  The Department of Iron and Steel Metallurgy was set up.
 The Department of Organic Synthesis was set up.
Apr. 1962  The Department of Mechanical Engineering for Power was set up.
Apr. 1963  The Department of Civil Engineering Hydraulics and Soil Mechanics was set up.
 The Department of Electronics was set up.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering for Production was set up.
Apr. 1964  The Department of Chemical Engineering was set up.
Apr. 1965  The Department of Communication Engineering was set up.
The Department of Iron and Steel Metallurgy was set up.
Apr. 1966  The Department of Mechanical Engineering for Power was set up.
Apr. 1967  The Department of Nuclear Engineering was set up.
 The Department of Civil Engineering Hydraulics and Soil Mechanics was set up.
Apr. 1971  The Department of Nuclear Engineering was set up.
 The Department of Communication Engineering was renamed as the Department of Computer Science and Communication Engineering.
Apr. 1974  The Center of Instrumental Analysis was set up.
 The Department of Communication Engineering was renamed as the Department of Computer Science and Communication Engineering.
Apr. 1975  The Department of Materials Science and Technology was set up.
Apr. 1976  The Department of Mining was renamed as the Department of Mining Engineering.
Apr. 1977  The Department of Energy Conversion Engineering was set up.
Apr. 1978  The Department of Molecular Science and Technology was set up.
Apr. 1979  The Department of Mining Technology was renamed as the Department of Mining Engineering.
 The Departments of Materials Science and Technology, Molecular Science and Technology,and Energy Conversion Engineering were integrated into the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences.
Apr. 1981  The Department of Thermal Energy System was set up.
Apr. 1982  The Center of Instrumental Analysis was abolished.
Apr. 1983  The Research Institute of Superconducting Magnets was set up.
Apr. 1986  The Department of Thermal Energy System was integrated into the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences.
May 1987  The Geothermal Research Center was set up.
Apr. 1988  The Institute of Environmental Systems was set up.
Apr. 1990  The Departments of Metallurgy and Iron and Steel Metallurgy were reorganized as the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
Jun. 1990  The Departments of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Computer Science and Communication Engineering were reorganized.
Apr. 1991  The Departments of Applied Chemistry and Organic Synthesis were reorganized as the Department of Chemical Science and Technology.
Apr. 1992  The Department of Naval Architecture was reorganized as the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Systems Engineering.
The Department of Aeronautical Engineering was reorganized as the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Apr. 1993  The Departments of Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Hydraulics and Soil Mechanics were reorganized as the Department of Civil Engineering.
 The Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering for Production, and Mechanical Engineering for Power were reorganized as the Departments of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Intelligent Machinery and Systems, and Energy and Mechanical Engineering.
 The Research Institute of Superconducting Magnets was abolished.
 The Research Institute of Superconductivity was set up.
Apr. 1994  The Departments of Metallurgy and Iron and Steel Metallurgy were renamed as the Departments of Materials Processing and Materials Science.
Apr. 1995  The Department of Applied Chemistry was renamed as the Department of Functional Materials Chemistry.
The Department of Organic Synthesis was renamed as the Department of Molecular System Engineering.
Apr. 1996  The Departments of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Computer Science and Communication Engineering were reorganized as the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering.
The Department of Naval Architecture was renamed as the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Systems Engineering.
 The Departments of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Computer Science and Communication Engineering were reorganized as the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
 The Department of Applied Mechanics was renamed as the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Apr. 1997  The Departments of Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Hydraulics and Soil Mechanics were renamed as the Departments of Civil Engineering I(Civil and Structural Engineering) and Civil Engineering II(Urban and Environmental Engineering).
 The Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering for Production, and Mechanical Engineering for Power were renamed as the Departments of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Intelligent Machinery and Systems, and Energy and Mechanical Engineering.
 The Departments of Chemical Engineering, Functional Materials Chemistry, Molecular System Engineering, Materials Processing, and Materials Science were reorganized as the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Materials Process Engineering, Materials Physics and Chemistry, and Chemical Systems and Engineering.
 The Departments of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Science and Technology, and Materials Science and Engineering were reorganized as the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
Apr. 1998  The Departments of Civil Engineering I(Civil and Structural Engineering), Civil Engineering II(Urban and Environmental Engineering), Mining Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Systems Engineering, and Nuclear Engineering were reorganized as the Departments of Civil and Structural Engineering, Urban and Environmental Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Earth Resources Engineering, and Applied Quantum Physics and Nuclear Engineering.
 The Department of Architecture was integrated into the Graduate School of Human-Environment Studies.
 The Departments of Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Naval Architecture and Marine Systems Engineering were reorganized as the Department of Earth Resources, Marine and Civil Engineering.
The Department of Nuclear Engineering was reorganized as the Department of Energy Science and Engineering.
 The Institute of Environmental Systems was reorganized.
 The Geothermal Research Center was abolished.
Apr. 1999  The Departments of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Intelligent Machinery and Systems, Energy and Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Applied Physics were reorganized as the Departments of Mechanical Engineering Science, Intelligent Machinery and Systems, and Aeronautics and Astronautics.
The Institute of Environmental Systems was integrated into the Graduate School of Engineering.

Apr. 2000  The Graduate School of Engineering was reorganized as the Faculty of Engineering (Departments of Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Urban and Environmental Engineering, Marine Systems Engineering, Earth Resources Engineering, Applied Quantum Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Science, Intelligent Machinery and Systems, and Aeronautics and Astronautics) and the Graduate School of Engineering (Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Materials Process Engineering, Materials Physics and Chemistry, Chemical Systems and Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Urban and Environmental Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Earth Resources Engineering, Applied Quantum Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Science, Intelligent Machinery and Systems, and Aeronautics and Astronautics).
The Institute of Environmental Systems was integrated into the Faculty of Engineering.
 The Faculty of Engineering was renamed as the School of Engineering.
Apr. 2001  The Kuju Geothermal and Volcanology Research Station was set up.
