In our laboratory, we conduct research focusing on "high-temperature strength and high-temperature deformation" of "metals and alloys". Strength and deformation of metals and alloys at high temperatures are very important characteristics for the energy related equipment such as engines in aircraft or automobile, turbines and boilers in thermal power generation plant, etc. These high-temperature devices are the core of the industry over the next several decades, and Japan is currently in the position to lead the research and development of high-temperature metallic materials. However, the fundamental physics related to the high temperature strength and deformation of the metal is a research field with many unexplained parts.

Our laboratory conducts extensive research from the development of new high temperature metallic materials aiming at practical application to the clarification of the fundamental deformation mechanism of metals and alloys at high temperature.
