Group Ⅵ

Outline

  • Group VI is an entrance examination selection framework in which the department group is undecided at the time of admission. The department group will be decided at the end of first-grade period by your desire and your scores of the classes. You can think about your course and career and then offer your desire department group through activities in group VI.
  • In group VI, you can take "lectures introducing the fields of each department group", ask seniors at "exchange meetings with seniors", and ask questions to faculties directly at "laboratory tours". Through these special activities in group VI, you can get useful information of the department group for your career choice.
  • In the first grade period, all department groups take "Common Education Courses in the Faculty of Engineering", so there is no disadvantage for group VI students in terms of learning compared to students in other groups I to V.

Information for Career Choice

In Classes

  • First Year (Common Education in the Faculty of Engineering)
    Students will learn about cutting-edge technologies in all disciplines and the role and importance of fundamental academic disciplines, which can be utilized in selecting a department group.
  • Second Year (Common Subjects for Department Groups)
    Students are introduced to the specialized technologies and research content of each group in more detail and learn about the educational content and careers of the departments, which can be utilized in selecting a department.

 

In Extracurricular Activities

  • Laboratory / Research Facility Tour
     By visiting research facilities, equipment, and devices, students will become easier to imagine the academic fields.
  • Department Group / Department Guidance
     Through the guidance of the faculty members of the department, students will be able to understand the importance of each specialized field and its role in society.
  • Exchange Meeting with Senior Students
     Students can get information directly from senior and graduate students in the department.

Voluntary activities

  • You can spend enough time for looking up various books and internet information and use it to think about your career path.
  • You can individually visit the faculty members and seniors of the departments and listen to them to get useful information for thinking about your career path.
  • You can encounter various ways of thinking by interacting with friends and colleagues.
  • You can reconsider yourself and think about your career through club activities, interaction with international students, and cross-cultural experiences.

Support System

  • Group VI provides the support system for students planning their own career options.
  • Chairperson, class teachers, supporting teachers, and student affairs division of university office are delighted to respond to questions and requests from students. Note: healthcare is supported by the Center for Health Sciences and Counseling.
  • Supporting teachers representing the Groups I-V provide detailed and useful information on course topics, curricula, research topics and career options for each course group.

 

Expected Results for Students in Group VI

Before we had only vague images on the fields of the courses, but the Group IV provided information on the role of study supporting technology, the importance of the topics of the courses, and the relation between the research fields and the society! Now we have expanded our view on the fields!
