We are investigating the possibility of a paradigm shift from a battery-inherent to a battery-free wireless and embedded sensor system. The fundamental techniques include the development of the ultra-low power and low voltage analog/high frequency integrated circuits in CMOS technology for future generation wireless communication systems at one hand, and at another, efforts are going to apply 5G carrier frequency to transfer not only the signal/data but also power to realize a wire-free power supply system to replace the conventional batteries to drive the future wireless and embedded sensor systems.
